A Letter to a Mormon

Why Is Mormonism Based on Evolution?

First let us define the word evolution. Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary (1976)
Evolution: a) A process of change in a certain direction: unfolding. b) the action or an instance of forming and giving something off: emission c) a process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state; growth.

According to Mormon Doctrine by Bruce R. McConkie, p. 251 "Life did not originate on this earth as the Bible teaches in Genesis. It was translated from other and older spheres. Men are the literal spirit children, spirit offspring, of the Eternal Father; they were born to him as his spirit progeny, as spirit entities having bodies made of a more pure and refined substance than that comprising these mortal tabernacles." (Spirits do not have bodies before they get to earth. According to Mormonism spirits come to earth to inhabit bodies so they can become a god in their own right.)
The Mormon Doctrine continues: "Furthermore, every form of life had a spirit existence in that eternal world before it came to dwell naturally upon the face of the earth. Animals, plants, fowls, fishes, all forms of life existed as spirit entities in pre-existence: their number, extent, variety, and form were known with exactitude before ever the foundations of this earth were laid. They are all destined to live in their time and season upon this particular globe." (Moses 3:1-9; D&C 77:1-2)

This teaching parallels the Hermetic occult teachings with one difference.: the original spirit is an intellectual emanation of a mind which begins its cycle of necessity by emanating through mineral life, plant life, animal life and human life. It is called "soul" that gathers its information necessary to function as a human through these various stages. That is what Darwin's evolution is based on. Mormons do not agree with that journey of the soul but it is similar since all animals and living things existed in the spirit world before they were physically created these beliefs have that in common.

Next lets go to Morals and Dogma written by Albert Pike for Masons.(Published 1964) page 760 to see another similarity or parallel in teachings: "As man [the unit of Humanity] is a microcosm.., containing all the Causates of the First Cause.. as the Material Man is the end and completion of all creation, so in the Divine Man is the beginning thereof… As the inferior man ascends from the lowest matter even to the First Cause, so the Superior Adam descends from Simple and Infinite Act, even to the lowest and most attenuated Potence. The ternary is the bringing back of duality to unity. Which brings us to the next question.

Why Do Humans Have To Go Through An Evolutionary Process in Mormonism?

Since God in occult teachings is male and female, the father and mother of the spirit children, but is in himself a unit, not a duality. It manifests the First Cause, in Himself profoundly hidden. The next concept to consider are the Sephiroth, which emanate immediately from the First Cause, and by its Nature have produced and do control all the rest. These Sephiroth were put forth from the One First and Simple, manifesting His Infinite Goodness. They are mirrors of His Truth, and the analogues of His Supremest Essence, the Ideas of His Wisdom, and the representation of His will; the receptacles of His Potency, and the instruments with which He operates… "

The reason I'm bringing the Sephiroth into this, is to show the root of this teaching which is the Kabalah. According to Hebrews this Kabalah represents the Tree of Life, the forbidden fruit which cannot be accessed according to the Bible by human beings until they are begotten like Jesus Christ.

According to these teachings "The First Cause effects, preserves and governs all things. All things issue forth; the Souls and Potencies, whereby essence, life, and movement are given to all things. The principle of Male and Female keep the balance according to Morals and Dogma page 762. In the Spiritual world Evil and Good are in equilibrio, and it will be restored, when of the Evil Good becomes, until all is Good."

Mormons do not believe in hell. They have outer darkness but because of the Baptism for the Dead and the Endowment rituals, all human beings have the potential of eternal life in heaven with the Father irrespective of their beliefs. Even Adolf Hitler is among those in their records of proxy Baptisms. In fact Mormonism teaches that families are all bound together through this process, which attracted me to Mormonism.

According to 33 degree Mason, Albert Pike, the supreme crown is both sexes, Male and Female... The Universe was out-formed in the form of Male and Female… The Principle, Hakemah, is the Generator of all things; and He and Binah conjoin, and she shines within Him. When they conjoin, she conceives, and the out-flow is Truth.

The Absolute Holy One, 'Yod' is the beginning and the end of all things that are.
In the view of the Kabalists, all individuals are contained in species, and all species in genera, and all particulars in a Universal, which is an idea, abstracted from all consideration of individuals; but as it were, an Ens, Entity or Being, ideal or intellectual, but none the less real; prior to any individual, containing them all, and out of which they are all in succession evolved. (page 764) (This doctrine agrees with the Mormon concept).

To go a step further when considering this concept, "the whole Human race, or Humanity, then existed in the Deity, not distinguished into individuals, but as a Unity, out of which the Manifold was to flow. This potentiality was to the Kabalists a real Ens… This was the Idea or Plan of the Universe.. [Spirits] had to emanate from the Infinite Deity, and be of Himself, though not His very Self.

On page 765: To understand the Kabalistic idea of "the Sephiroth, it must be borne in mind that they were assigned, not only to the world of Emanations, but also to other worlds.."

In the view of the Kabalah, God and the Universe were One, and in the One General, as the type or source, were included and involved, and from it have been evolved and issued forth, the manifold and all particulars… The links of that bind all created things together are the links of a single Unity, and the whole Universe is One, developing itself into the manifold… "

The Kabalah assigns sexual characteristics to the very Deity as well. .. Page 766 : "The Infinite first limits Himself by flowing forth in the shape of Will, of determination to act. This Will of the Deity, or the Deity as will, is .. the first Sephirah. In it are included all other Emanations… Now we have the Self, flowed forth from Will, from which flows Power to beget intellectual action.

These emanations (spirits) apparently are male or female because when they are birthed into a human body they are one or the other. The goal then becomes to be unified again with a mate that makes this perfect unit. In Mormonism this unit becomes another god. In the occult this is what is called "soul mates". To come to this perfect place this male and female emanation that each inhabit in a different body is instructed by Deity to come to a place of perfection to be eternally married to the perfect mate in the Mormon Temple to be ushered back into the celestial heaven to receive a planet to create a place for the spirits that they conceive. These spirits will need bodies as well to go through this evolutionary process.

Dear Mormon, are you beginning to see that Mormonism is an evolutionary process. Mormonism also has its root in the Kabalah that teaches pantheism. According to Webster's Dictionary, 1) "Pantheism is a doctrine that equates God with the forces and laws of the universe. 2) the worship of all gods of different creeds, cults, or peoples indifferently: also toleration of worship of all gods."

Mormonism has to be pantheism because the emanation [spirits] are ultimately fused back to the origin since the whole universe is God. It was contained in Him before it was manifested and is bound together by links to this Single Unity. Because this concept includes all, animals, plants, etc. worhsipping the earth is part of this as well.

Mormons wear the compass and square embroidered into their temple garments. This symbol represents the male and female unity. To begin with, these tools were used to draw circles for astrological purposes. Page 850 "Morals and Dogma" the head [of the compass] is the Sun, and by that becomes head of the female. The female is represented by the Moon and the square. " In plain English the way the square is located in the symbolism, the spread out legs represented by the square (female) lies under the male, represented by the compass. The symbol denotes intercourse.

"The square, .. is the appropriate symbol as well for this Earth, Mother Earth. The Compass is .. the Heavens. Heaven and Earth, represent God as the most ancient of the Deities, by Hesiod.

Satan is symbolized as well as a Hermaphroditic figure and a symbol of the double nature anciently assigned to the Deity, as Generator and Producer, as Brahm and Maya among the Aryans, Osiris and Isis among the Egyptians. The Sun the male, the Moon the female, were identified with Osiris and Isis, father and mother of the big G, part of the Masonic symbol, but left out of the Mormon compass and square, is Horus the offspring.

Page 851 of Morals and Dogma, "From Heaven come the spiritual and immortal portion of man; from the Earth his material and mortal portion. The Hebrew Genesis says that Yehouah formed man of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. 'Through the seven planetary spheres, represented by the Mystic Ladder of the Mithriac Initiations, and by that which Jacob saw in his dream (not with three, but with seven steps), the Souls, emanating from the Deity, descended, to be united to their human bodies; and through those seven spheres they must re-ascend, to return to their origin and home in the bosom of the Deity."

By now it should be completely obvious to you that Jesus Christ has no function in this system whatsoever. The Church calls itself the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Here is another proof that the Mormons do not agree with the Bible even though they sport it as one of their doctrines. Page 169 of Mormon Doctrine: Creation: "It is an utterly false and uninspired notion to believe that the world or any other thing was created out of nothing or that any created thing can be destroyed in the sense of an annihilation. (D&C 93:33) .. "This earth was not the first of the Lord's creations. An infinite number of worlds have come rolling into existence at his command. Each is an earth;; many are inhabited with his spirit children; each abides the particular law given to it; and each will play its part in the redemption, salvation, and exaltation of that infinite host of the children of an Almighty God. The Lord has said that his work and glory is to bring to pass immortality and eternal life for his children on all the inhabited worlds he has created. (Moses 1:27-40; 7:29-36; D&C 88:17-26)

Looking at 'Hell' on page 349 these wicked spirits are in the spirit world only and are awaiting the eventual day of their resurrection… Hell will have an end.. but hell must deliver up its captive spirits, and the grave must deliver up its captive bodies, and the bodies and the spirits of men will be restored one to the other." (2 Ne. 9:10-12) .. After their resurrection, the great majority of those who suffered in hell will pass into the telestial kingdom." In Mormonism the telestial kingdom is much like the life we have on earth.

Now lets see what the Bible has to say:

SPIRIT CHILDREN:
1 Corinthians 15:45-50 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

BIBLE'S ORIGIN:
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

HOW IMPORTANT IS THE KJV BIBLE:
John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

CREATION OF MAN
Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
John 3:5-6 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water (1. NATURAL BIRTH) and of the Spirit (2. SPIRITUAL BIRTH), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Notice here 'born of the Spirit' Spirit starts with a capital letter because God is a triune God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
God told us to worship Him in spirit because Jehovah God is a Spirit. He does not have a physical body as Mormon's believe.
Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

MORMONS DO NOT EVER TALK ABOUT THE CIRCUMCISION
WHAT IS IT? DID YOU KNOW WITHOUT THE CIRCUMCISION YOU HAVE NO SALVATION?
Speaking of the circumcision that all Israel was to undergo according to the Old Testament teachings about Abraham, was a physical circumcision to remind them that they belonged to God. Since they rebelled, it became worthless.
Romans 2:25-29 "For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

TRUTH: WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
Mark 12:32-33 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

HOW CAN WE DO TRUTH IF WE DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Jesus prayed to Heavenly Father in John 17:11-26 "And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them."

DID JESUS COME FOR ALL?
John 8:44-47 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Romans 1:17-26 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET FORGIVENESS?
Matthew 4:17 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

JESUS REPRESENTS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Acts 3:17-19 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS IMPUTED, NOT EARNED
Romans 4:16-25 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Praying for your salvation,
humbly in Christ Jesus
