An Introduction to the Mormon Temple Ceremony

t has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. As you look at the photographs in this section, you will understand our concern about the foundation and structure of the Mormon Church and Masonic Lodge. If you are a Christian who has never experienced the occult, you may be alarmed. If you have been involved in witchcraft or Satanism, you will probably not find much here that is unfamiliar. Look closely at the Mormon Temple architecture and symbolism. Examine the symbols and "working tools" of the Freemason. Why has the Mormon Church elected to display astrological symbols and satanic pentagrams instead of the Christian cross? Why is the "Evil Eye" of Horus found embedded on a capstone over the window of the east central tower? Why are occultic symbols found stitched into the Mormon "sacred" undergarment? Why are these identical symbols found in places of prominence in every Masonic Lodge? What is the true meaning of the beehive? Please don't misunderstand what we are trying to show in this section. We don't believe that the devil is hiding under every bush. We believe that Satan's power has been greatly exaggerated in the modern church and he is given entirely TOO MUCH credit for the evil that plagues mankind. The Prophet Jeremiah tells us that, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) If the words of Scripture mean anything at all (and we believe they do), there is something far more evil in this world than some imaginary "demonic presence" sent to plague mankind. The most dangerous form of wickedness resides in the heart! Indeed, it is the basic sin nature of man (along with his carnal living and innate character flaws) that is responsible for much of what we see. http://www.luciferlink.org/photos.htm Temple Ritual Altered 3 From The Salt Lake City Messenger No. 75, July 1990 Jerald and Sandra Tanner --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Secrets Leak Out Joseph Smith swore those who took part in the endowments to secrecy, but because of his practice of plural marriage and other doctrines he taught, many of his followers became alienated from the Mormon Church and some of them revealed the contents of the ritual. An account was published as early as April 15, 1846, in the Warsaw Signal. Increase McGee Van Dusen and his wife exposed the temple ceremony in 1847, and their account was reprinted several times. Many other exposes were printed in the 19th century. As we noted earlier, the Reed Smoot investigation took place just after the turn of the century. At that time many people who had been through the ritual were questioned regarding its contents. While a number refused to talk about it, others spoke concerning what went on in the temples.

Their testimony was printed by the United States Government in four volumes. In 1889 John Moore and W. J. Edgar were denied citizenship because it was believed that they had taken "an oath or obligation incompatible with the oath of citizenship..." As in the Reed Smoot investigation, Mormons or those who had formerly been Mormons were called upon to give testimony concerning the temple ceremony. In the "Temple Lot Case," a dispute over the property on which a temple was to be built, additional testimony was given concerning the ritual. Much of this testimony appears in a large volume entitled, The Temple Lot Case.

On February 12, 1906, the Salt Lake Tribune printed the temple ritual, and in 1931, W. M. Paden published an account of the endowment ceremony in Temple Mormonism--Its Evolution, Ritual and Meaning. In 1964, William J. Whalen printed the ceremony (see Latter-Day Saints in the Modern Day World), and two years later John L. Smith, a Baptist minister, published the ritual in I Visited the Temple. for whole story: http://www.mormonismi.net/temppeli/temple_ritual_altered3_utlm.shtml

The Annotated Temple Ritual Shock Waves Imagine the intense shock which would come from walking into the quiet, solemn confines of the temple and discovering that rites which you had been told were the highest, holiest, most spiritually important ceremonies you could do on this earth had abruptly been changed. These were supposedly the restored pure temple rituals that Christ himself did exactly to the letter of the law! If these ordinances were divinely revealed, what possible justification could there be for changing them? Some radically different things have been happening in the LDS church since the coming forth of THE GOD MAKERS film.

All of a sudden, the Church which claimed to have the "one, the only true truth" was backing down on many of the issues Christian apologists were crying out against. The Mormon church has been building temples at an ever growing rate, yet ever since the public revelation of the heretical acts within those temples, fewer and fewer Mormons have been anxious to go back a second time. The church had to do something to stop the quiet discontent growing among its members. The image of holy purification and dedication had become over-shadowed by images of eerie occult rites. Empty temples were the result. A further question which the Mormons need to ask themselves is:

Why were the changes made? If Joseph Smith taught that all Protestant ministers were corrupt (and he did), then why take something perfectly correct and true by LDS standards out of the temple rite? If Pay Lay Ale really means "O God hear the words of my mouth," then what could possible need changing about such a nice, pious prayer? The disturbing reality is that the only sane reason to change these vital ceremonies is because the accusations of Christian critics are true!

If the endowment was perfect before for getting Mormons their godhood, then why change it? If it wasn’t perfect before, then the changes become understandable—but that means that 150 years of Mormons went to their graves trusting in a broken endowment full of occult and Masonic eccentricities and a broken "plan of salvation." We need to rejoice in the ground gained by the Lord here, and to pray that these changes will cause some Mormons to actually step back a moment and think these issues through. If they do, they will discover that the entire LDS church falls like a house of cards before the clear light of reason and the Bible.

We mentioned stress in the first paragraph. It is obvious that the Mormon Church does not want to wear the label of a cult, but the very word, cult, describes a group at stress with the mainstream. Our work has been to turn up that stress volume and break people away, back into mainstream Christianity. The LDS church has been unable to shoo us away. They had to do that only logical thing left and remove those heresies that enable us to continue the stress factor that isolates them. I personally believe that they will do all in their power to attempt to step into mainstream ecumenical Christianity during the nineties and will remove every stress factor they must to do it. Remember, however, that no matter how hard these Mormon leaders work to clean up their act, it is still an act, a counterfeit faith and the Mormon people victims of spiritual darkness.

Mormons may have a true zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. Seeking their own exaltation and glory, not being satisfied with the complete glory of the Father and the Son. http://www.saintsalive.com/mormonism/temple_ritual.htm

Why Mormons reject the Bible

1. Mormons insist that they do not reject the Bible since they so often refer to it as Scripture. However, they consider it to be only partially complete.

2. The Church News, a Mormon newspaper, carried this statement concerning the Bible: "It is the Word of God. It is not perfect. The prophet Joseph made many corrections in it."

3. First Nephi 13:26 from the Book of Mormon, states the following about the Christian Church: "A great and abominable church which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the lamb many parts which are plain and most precious."

4. This Mormon view of the Christian Church gives us insight into how they have come to disregard the Bible. The Mormon apostle, Orson Pratt, in his book, The Seer, says this about the Christian community: "Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the 'whore of Babylon' whom the Lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness."

5. Orson Pratt also stated that, "No one can tell whether even one verse of either the Old or New Testament conveys the ideas of the original author."

6. Joseph Smith makes an attempt to give credibility to the Book of Mormon in his fourth volume of the History of the Church when he says: "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book."

III. Some observations:

A. The Mormon Church is not within the realm of Christian orthodoxy. Indeed it is a cult based on the teachings of a mystic who participated in a variety of occult behavior. Its message of salvation is based on a doctrine of works-salvation. It teaches that Satan is the brother of Jesus and that God the Father is an exalted man. (See our briefing outline #10 on the Characteristics of Cults).

B. The secret temple rituals of Mormonism have been borrowed largely from the secret rites of the masonic lodge. (See: What's Going On In There? by Chuck Sackett).

C. The Mormon Church makes every attempt to discredit the Bible as God's infallible Word and to establish Joseph Smith as God's spokesman presenting another gospel. Joseph Smith fails every Biblical test of a true Prophet.

D. The Word of God stands alone as God's Truth, the Standard Works of the Mormon Church, excluding the Bible, have no credibility whatsoever. We find in Scripture that God's word will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8), that it will never pass away even though heaven and earth will someday pass away (Matthew 24:35).

E. The Book of Mormon does not correspond to what we know God has already revealed in His Word. The inconsistencies, the changes in the Book of Mormon, and the heavy plagiarism of the King James translation bring serious doubt as to the trustworthiness of the text. Some examples of plagiarism: 1. 1 Nephi 20:21 Isaiah 48:49 2. 2 Nephi 7:8 Isaiah 50:51 3. 2 Nephi 12:24 Isaiah 2:14 4. Mosiah 14 Isaiah 53 5. 3 Nephi 12:14 Matthew 5:7 6. 3 Nephi 22 Isaiah 54 7. 3 Nephi 24:25 Malachi 3:4

F. The Book of Mormon, in contradiction to the Bible, teaches that God has a body of flesh and bone, and is an exalted man. They believe the god they worship is Adam. Brigham Young says: "He is your Father and our God and the only God with whom we have to do." Orson Pratt says: "...our Father in Heaven was begotten on a previously heavenly world by His Father; and again, He was begotten by a still more ancient Father and so on, from generation to generation, from one heavenly world to another still more ancient, until our minds are wearied and lost in the multiplicity of generations and successive worlds, and as a last resort, we wonder in our minds, how far back the genealogy extends, and how the first world was formed, and the first Father was begotten." Mormons are polytheists pure and simple!

G. They also believe that there is no eternal hell; man can become a god; there are three levels of heaven, and that marriage is for eternity. When a man becomes a god he is given his own planet to populate. Hence Mormons believe there are humans on other planets in the universe. Is it just a coincidence that most UFO sightings are in the Mormon populated states of Utah and Nevada?

H. In spite of the convoluted teaching of the Mormon church we find them in the same camp with evangelicals on many moral and social issues. The outward appearance is may be good but the Mormons perpetuate a false and even pagan worldview contrary to the orthodox teaching of the Old and New Testaments.

Masonic The Occultic Apron
http://www.geocities.com/lord_visionary/washingtonsmasonicapron.htm

According to William Schnoebelen (former Mormon, Mason, and Witch; author of Mormonism's Temple of Doom), "...in magick, the apron is a symbol of magickal energy or planetary (astrological) force. It is the badge or rank for the third degree; and represents (when green) the priestly office of Lucifer. It is the magickal 'tool' of that degree.

"In this third degree of Wicca, the apron serves a practical, magickal purpose. In this degree, through a bizarre ceremony called the Great Rite, one is initiated into the principle of sex magick (tantra yoga). The apron is often used during this sort of ritual to help contain and channel sexual energy. This is why it covers the genital area....it serves rather like putting a lid on a teakettle to help bring it to a boil. This channeling raises the Kundalini force and supposedly produces enlightenment when the Kundalini serpent strikes upwards and 'bites' you metaphysically at the base of the brain. "...just as the stole is the emblem of authority in the Catholic Priesthood, so the green apron is the emblem of Lucifer's authority. In every Satanic group I knew of, the hierophant (High Priest) always wore a green apron, usually of the finest silk or satin."
(3) Schnoebelen gives this conclusion of the Mormon ceremony and use of the apron, "...as I saw Lucifer with his Priesthood apron and as I received my own apron I was convinced that Christianity reached its highest level of witchcraft in Mormonism. Jesus, I had been taught as a witch, was a Medium of the highest order, who worked miracles by magick. Now as I saw the priesthood of Lucifer transferred to Adam in the Apron, I knew it was true."
