The Word "Bible" was contrived by men and doesn't
exist in God's Word. The word Bible according to Webster's New
Collegiate Dictionary comes from the word [..biblia,, fr. Gr.
pl of biblion book, dim. of byblos papyrus, book, fr. Byblos,
ancient Phoenician city from which papyrus was exported] 1. cap:
the sacred scriptures of Christians comprising the Old Testament
and the New Testament.. 2. Book.. 5. something suggesting a book..

After considerable letter writing between a Mormon and Cephas
Ministry the following ended the conversation:
"Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind.
And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. (Matthew 15:14)
Woe unto you, [ye] blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear
by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the
gold of the temple, he is a debtor! (Matthew
23:16)
[Ye] fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or
the temple that sanctifieth the gold? (Matthew
23:17)
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended
it not. (John 1:5)
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried
about with divers and strange doctrines. For [it is] a good thing
that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which
have not profited them that have been occupied therein. (Hebrews 13)
Jesus said it is "finished". I have glorified thee
on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to
do. (John 17:4)
What we are to know is HIS WORD, since He is God Himself. Why
would there be more??
'Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken
his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity
[shall be] upon him." (Numbers 15:31)
And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee: have
I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth
in my mouth, that shall I speak. (Numbers 22:38)
The word that anyone speaks in the name of God needs
to be in the Holy Scriptures or it doesn't apply.
And the LORD said unto me, They have well [spoken that] which
they have spoken. (Deuteronomy 18:17)
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from
among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in
his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command
him. 19 And it shall come to pass, [that]
whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak
in my name, I will require [it] of him. 20
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name,
which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak
in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. 21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall
we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name
of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that
[is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet
hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18)
This proves that the Word of the Lord is true because Joseph
Smith, Jr. who founded the Church of Jesus Christ and of Latter-day
Saints died an untimely death. We have 52 false prophecies by
Joseph Smith, Jr. to prove he was a false prophet.
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as
great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice,
[and] to hearken than the fat of rams. 23
For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness
[is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the
word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king.
(1 Samuel 15)
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt
ye between two opinions? if the LORD [be] God, follow him: but
if Baal, [then] follow him. And the people answered him not a
word. (1 Kings 18:21)
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the
mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and
the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2
The same was in the beginning with God. 3
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing
made that was made. 4 In him was life;
and the life was the light of men. (John 1)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld
his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the
number of the men was about five thousand. (Acts
4:4)
Why do we need anything else but simply believing what was
written?
But the word of God grew and multiplied. (Acts
12:24)
So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word
of God. (Romans 10:17) |
